PURITI is well-aware that counterfeit honey is a growing threat to New Zealand’s reputation as a supplier of 100% pure New Zealand Mānuka honey. This is why we have come up with a high-tech solution to combat an industry that may be vulnerable to counterfeit products.
With 11 separate consumer security and anti-counterfeit measures applied to the packaging, PURITI goes above and beyond what is necessary. With our cylindrical jars, specific lids and thick anti-tamper seal, our jars are uniquely produced to make them virtually impossible to duplicate.
Our Manuka honey packaging also features soft-touch laminate for the label paper, high build UV and spot UV design elements as well as a stamped foil for the metallic finishes. The label has designs infused with invisible ink that's only visible under black light. Each honey jar is laser etched with a reference or word unique to every production batch.
Adam Boot, our International Brand Manager has said, “We were uncomfortable with the quality choice available to the consumer and the lack of protection provided against counterfeit and fake products."
The current value for the Mānuka honey industry sits at approximately $398M (2021), PURITI is well-aware of the responsibility we have to ensure we provide the consumers with a product they can believe in.
